How to enable the car license plate feature

🕵️‍♀️Users can register their car license plate in Waldo. This is useful when connecting Waldo to your license plate recognition system via the Waldo APIs.

The license plate can be registered by the user or by the Waldo administrator via the Waldo admin portal.

Enable the license plate feature:

  1. Connect to the Waldo admin portal at https://admin.hellowaldo.app.
  2. Under Desks, rooms and parking, Open the Entity > Building and navigate to the parking section.



  3. Edit the properties of the parking and enable the "Use license plate" feature and Save.




    The license plate field will now be visible in the user's settings.

Register the license plate as a user:

  1. Open your Waldo application and click Settings.
  2. Under License plate, fill in your car's license plate.

    Will the license plate number then be visible to other users as well (for example in the map) or just in the backend?

    Thanks for asking! We prioritize user privacy.

    The license plate number is only visible in the Waldo admin portal (backend) and the user's personal settings. It is never displayed to other users on the map or in any public interface.
