Grant Consent to Use Waldo
What Does “Grant Consent” Mean?
When you first sign in to Waldo using your Microsoft 365 account, you may see a message saying that you need admin approval.
This happens because your company’s Microsoft account settings only allow trusted apps to connect to your work account.
To use Waldo, your company needs to give permission (grant consent) so Waldo can safely connect to Microsoft 365 and show your workspaces, bookings, and team information.
How to Grant Consent and enable the features you need
If you are a Microsoft 365 administrator (or if you’re working with one), follow these steps:
- Go to the consent page: https://admin.hellowaldo.app/consent
- Sign in with your Microsoft 365 account.
-
Review the requested permissions (these allow Waldo to read your organization’s data like users, teams, and rooms).
- Click Accept to approve access.
- Once completed, users in your organization will be able to sign in to Waldo normally.
How to Grant Consent for the meeting room check-in feature
Granting consent for the meeting room feature is a straightforward process. To authorize the Waldo app to confirm or cancel a meeting when the user checks in:
- Go to the Policies page > Check-in > Rooms
- Click "grant admin consent"
- Authenticate with an M365 admin account.
If You’re Not an Administrator
If you see a message saying “Admin approval required”, please contact your IT or Microsoft 365 administrator and share this link with them:
You can say:
“Hi, I’m trying to use Waldo, but it needs Microsoft 365 admin approval. Could you please open the link above and grant consent for our organization?”
Additional Information
If you still receive an “admin approval required” message after following the steps above, your organization may require tenant-wide admin consent or additional approvals.
For more detail on how the consent process works and what permissions are requested, please refer to our article: Consent (principles and permissions)
Note that the steps above apply regardless of whether you are on the Free plan or Complete plan of Waldo.
