💡 Waldo detects managers automatically — here’s how it works.
Manager data comes directly from your Microsoft 365 tenant, using the built-in hierarchy feature.
👤 Who counts as a manager?
Waldo follows the org structure defined in Microsoft 365. To see what Waldo sees, you can check your organization chart in Microsoft Teams:
- Open Microsoft Teams
- Click your profile picture (top right)
- Click your avatar to open your profile panel
- Select Organization to view who reports to whom
⚠️ Note: If you don’t see the Organization tab, your company might not be using Microsoft’s hierarchy feature.
🔍 How to check if the hierarchy feature is active
Here’s how to confirm whether your Microsoft 365 tenant is set up with manager data:
- Go to admin.microsoft.com
- Navigate to Users > Active users
- Select any user profile
- Look for the Manager field
If that field is empty, the hierarchy feature isn’t currently enabled.
