Waldo detects managers automatically—here’s how it works. |
Manager data comes straight from your Microsoft 365 tenant, using the built-in hierarchy feature.
Who counts as a manager?
Waldo follows your Microsoft 365 org structure. To see what Waldo sees, you can check your own org chart in Microsoft Teams:
- Open Microsoft Teams and click your profile picture (top right).
- Click your avatar to open your profile panel.
- Select Organization to view who reports to whom.
Note: If you don’t see the Organization tab, your company might not be using Microsoft’s hierarchy feature.
How to check if the hierarchy feature is active
Here’s how to confirm whether your Microsoft 365 tenant is set up with manager data:
- Go to admin.microsoft.com.
- Navigate to Users > Active users.
- Select any user profile and look for the Manager field.
- If the field is empty, the hierarchy feature isn’t currently enabled.
