You clicked Continue with Microsoft and instead of moving forward, you hit a screen that says "Approval required" or "You need admin permission to install this app." You have not done anything wrong. Here is what is happening and how to get unblocked.

Why does this happen?

Many companies configure Microsoft 365 so that employees cannot install new applications without IT approval first. This is a deliberate security policy, very common in organisations that take data protection seriously. It has nothing to do with Waldo specifically: any new Teams app would trigger the same screen.

Without this approval, Waldo cannot connect to your Microsoft 365 environment. It is not a technical glitch. It is a security gate that only your IT administrator can open.

What you need to do

You need to ask your IT administrator or Microsoft 365 admin to approve Waldo in your company's admin portal. For them, this is a standard operation that takes a few minutes.

Send them the message below:

Subject: Approval request  Waldo app for Microsoft Teams

Hi,

I am trying to install Waldo, a workspace booking app that runs inside Microsoft Teams. Our Microsoft 365 settings require admin approval before I can proceed.

Could you approve the Waldo app in the Microsoft 365 admin center?

What happens once your IT approves?

Come back to the Waldo Welcome page and click Continue with Microsoft again. The approval screen will no longer appear and you can complete the setup normally.
